Contact us for support with your Council Tax

Help is at hand for residents struggling to pay their Council Tax.

EHDC’s Council Tax team has a host of ways to help residents manage their payments.

Cllr Charles Louisson, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Finance, said: “We understand it can be difficult keeping on top of bills but it is important to remember that paying Council Tax is a legal responsibility.

“If you can’t pay your Council Tax, please let us know as soon as possible. We may be able to spread your payments over a longer period.

“You also might be eligible for Council Tax support and discounts on your Council Tax bill depending on your circumstances.

“The important thing to remember is to get in touch with our team and work out a plan – don't let it drift. Non-payment of Council Tax is a serious offence and can lead to court proceedings, so get in touch with us as soon as you are in difficulty.”

Council Tax support is a benefit to help some people pay their Council Tax. More information can be found on the council’s website: www.easthants.gov.uk/council-tax-support. The site also includes advice and links to pay Council Tax and claim other benefits.
