Final round of grants for businesses affected by coronavirus opens soon

Businesses that saw their income affected by the Omicron variant and Plan B restrictions during December 2021 will be able to apply to East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) for the final round of Additional Restrictions Grants (ARG) from next Saturday (19 February) until midnight on Wednesday 2 March.

The grants – ranging from £1,300 to £7,800 – will be awarded to businesses that can demonstrate a loss of income, with priority given to businesses that benefit the local community, economy and environment.

Businesses who successfully applied for an ARG during January 2022 cannot apply for this funding.

Councillor Charles Louisson, EHDC portfolio holder for Finance, said:

“The January round of ARG grants saw us issue more than £800,000 to businesses in the district, but we are sure there are more businesses out there whose income was affected in December.

“I encourage any of those businesses to check the eligibility criteria on the website and get their application in. As government restrictions are eased, this will probably be the last chance to get help to cover lost income.”
