Everyone Active’s Health and Wellbeing Physical Activity Service provides an opportunity for individuals to access a 12-week supported exercise programme. The service is designed to provide exercise guidance for people who suffer from, or are at risk of developing, chronic medical conditions and for those whose health and wellbeing would benefit from a more active lifestyle.

What does the health and wellbeing programme involve?

The programme is about helping you find an exercise plan that caters for your level of ability and takes into consideration your health needs. With the support and guidance from qualified exercise professionals you will be encouraged to try activities and advised as to what might be a good start point for you. Gym inductions and gym programmes are also part of the support you can expect.  

Activities include:

  • Gym-based exercise*
  • Group fitness classes*
  • 1-2-1 sessions
  • Swimming*
  • Water-based activities e.g. Good Boost*
  • Group classes e.g. Aqua Aerobics

*Participation in activities are dependent on your medical condition(s)

Which health conditions does the programme cover?

The Health and Wellbeing service covers a variety of health conditions. These include: Neurological, musculoskeletal, pulmonary, arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, fibromyalgia and mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. 

How much will it cost to join the programme?

Following a free initial consultation, you can access a 6-month discounted membership. All 1-2-1’s and exercise guidance provided over the course of the programme is included within this discounted price.  Prices at the different sites vary, see the prices below: 

  • Taro Leisure Centre – £24.74 per month 
  • Whitehill & Bordon Leisure Centre – £32.23 per month 
  • Alton Sports Centre – £34.48 per month

How can I join the health and wellbeing service?

You must be referred by a health professional such as a GP, Social Prescriber, Practice Nurse, Physiotherapist. If you express an interest in joining the service a health professional will send a digital referral on your behalf. Once your form is received a member of the referral team will be in touch with next steps. Note that surgery referrals will automatically go to the sports centre within their catchment.
