In 2022 central government provided local authorities with a sum of money through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
East Hampshire District Council designated this money to help rural communities.

Grants
To support this programme central government has provided East Hampshire District Council with the Rural England Prosperity Fund (the rural grant) which will provide capital grants to rural businesses and community groups.
The final round of funding will be available from Friday 11 July 2025, and the application window will close on Wednesday 27 August 2025.
The rural grant will be available for grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 – and depending on the community and social impact may require no match funding at all. Eligible commercial projects may have to provide match funding of up to 50%.
This year’s allocation is £101,394. Eligible applicants will be able to apply from 9am on Friday 11 July 2025. The application process will close at 16:59pm on Wednesday 27 August 2025.
