The Gambling Act 2005 requires that licensing authorities review their statement of principles every three years. The statement details the position or view that the licensing authority will take on matters in connection with the discharge of its functions under the Gambling Act 2005.
East Hampshire District Council is currently reviewing its statement of principles, and the draft statement was approved for consultation by the Licensing committee at the meeting on Tuesday 6 May 2025.
We are now consulting on the proposed draft statement of principles under the Gambling Act 2005 and inviting statutory consultees and other interested parties and stakeholders to provide feedback.
Feedback must be received before the six-week consultation period closes at midnight on Friday 20 June 2025.
The draft statement of principles under the Gambling Act 2005 can be viewed below on our website.
Please send any feedback marked ‘statement of principles consultation’ to:
- Email - licensing@easthants.gov.uk
- Letter - Licensing, East Hampshire District Council, PO Box 310, Petersfield, Hampshire, GU32 9HN.
All responses to the consultation will be considered by the Licensing Committee on Tuesday 29 July and changes made to the draft if agreed, prior to going before full council in September 2025.
