Hampshire Forest Partnership (through Hampshire County Council) has several sources of funding available to encourage landowners and community groups to plant more trees.

Shoots Along the Routes

Shoots Along the Routes aims to improve landscape and habitat connectivity by creating over 630km of new green networks across Hampshire. We can support tree and hedge planting projects within a 2km wide corridor along several main roads on farmland, public spaces, schools and other locations to boost nature recovery.

Mini ‘Miyawaki’ forests

Mini ‘Miyawaki’ forests are created using a planting technique that can quickly establish an entire forest ecosystem at a micro scale – usually about the size of a tennis court. This technique is most suited to urban or semi-urban settings, and they are a fantastic educational tool.

Community orchards

HFP can support community orchards that will increase social connectedness and local nature recovery, particularly projects that involve the local community, have public access and improve biodiversity by supporting pollinators and wildlife.

Planting disease-resistant elms

By planting disease-resistant elms, we can bring back elm trees across Hampshire! Dutch elm disease killed almost all the UK’s mature elm trees, but HFP is funding new varieties to support wildlife and bring a whole host of other benefits.
