Organisations, charities and health professionals can apply for a Get Up & Go! grant of up to £500 to help fund physical activity-based projects, schemes, groups or classes, in East Hampshire
Exercise and health professionals, charities, community groups and local organisations are invited to apply for grants of up to £500 to launch new physical activity-based initiatives in the district.
The project aims to tackle exercise inequalities by providing affordable and accessible physical activity opportunities.
It focuses on individuals who are inactive or sedentary, by bringing people together through physical activity to improve the wellbeing and health outcomes of our residents.
Physical activity can include any form of movement that improves health and wellbeing. This could be anything from gardening or litter picking, to more traditional exercise classes and sports.
Cllr Adeel Shah, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Community Development and Engagement, said: "Funds are available for local groups with projects that offer any activity which benefits local residents.
"One way we can support local people and local communities is by tapping into our many local groups and individuals who can set up new opportunities for our residents to get active.
"Whether inactivity is due to health conditions, cultural barriers, age-related challenges or social isolation, this project can bring people together through physical activity.
"If you have such a scheme then get in touch with us and see if you are eligible for a Get Up & Go! grant."
If you or your organisation has a great idea for a new activity in your area, now is the time to act. Find out how to apply and make a difference in your community today.
Applications have already opened and will be open until mid-September.
