Help us tackle homelessness effectively

We have developed a strong strategy for preventing homelessness and rough-sleeping in East Hampshire. Take our survey and help us ensure we are taking the right approach.

Local and national data, along with valuable feedback from our communities, has helped us to develop this strategy, and it's crucial that we've got it right!

We are calling on our community to participate in the final stages of its development by letting us know if we are taking the right approach.

Anyone is welcome to complete the survey but we are especially keen to hear from those who have had experience of homelessness or working with homeless people.

Take the survey

In 2024-25, 466 households approached the council for assistance with homelessness or the threat of homelessness.

While rough-sleeping in East Hampshire is very low, homelessness can affect people of all ages and social circumstances.

Half of the households seeking help are families who are unexpectedly threatened with homelessness. Your feedback will help us ensure that we provide the necessary support and prevent more families from facing this crisis.

By taking part in this quick survey, you can help us bring this comprehensive and beneficial strategy into effect, which will guide the services we offer over the next five years.

Cllr Adeel Shah, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Community Development and Engagement, said: “Homelessness is an issue that can affect anyone from individuals to families. Please take a few moments to complete our survey and share your thoughts. Your input will help ensure that our strategy is robust and help us to deliver stronger, more supportive services and better homelessness protection in East Hampshire.”

The survey closes at midday on Monday 1 December 2025.
