Applications to the Community Climate Action Fund (CCAF) will close at noon next Monday (13 October).
The fund supports new projects that will benefit the wider community and encourage education on the response to climate change.
Grants of up to £20,000 for capital or revenue are available, with a total pot of £129,000, funded through EHDC councillor grants.
Projects could include, but are not limited to:
- Health and climate projects - projects that address both health benefits and mitigate climate change.
- Greening projects - creating accessible natural spaces to encourage education on climate change. For example, community gardens, wildflower gardens and green roofs.
- Community engagement that will inspire communities to take climate action.
- Active travel or sustainable travel projects.
- Helping the community to save energy or community buildings.
