Local groups who register with the East Hampshire Community Lottery can apply for money raised through the Community Chest fund.
The East Hampshire Community Lottery, run by EHDC, is a fun way for local charities, voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations to boost their fundraising.
Every year, money raised through the lottery – that has not been allocated directly to a good cause – is put into the Community Chest and used to fund projects run by local community groups and organisations.
There are currently 82 good causes signed-up to the community lottery, enjoying a welcome funding boost from their supporters.
How it works
• Local charities and not-for-profit organisations register to become a good cause.
• Players buy tickets online for £1 each.
• 50p from each ticket goes straight to the good cause of their choice.
• 40p is used for prizes and administration.
• Remaining 10p is added to the council’s Community Chest fund.
There is a weekly draw, where up-to £25,000 can be won.
Twice a year, good causes can apply for a grant from this fund. The next round opens on Monday 22 September – only registered good causes can apply.
Applications are now open for this year's Community Chest!

Last year, eight community groups were given a boost with grants from the East Hampshire Community Chest.
Support for young families, play equipment for pupils, arts and crafts classes and improved community facilities all reaped the benefit of some extra funding.
Cllr Adeel Shah, EHDC Portfolio Holder for Community Development and Engagement, said: "Every year the Community Chest supports some fantastic local groups and wonderful projects.
"I am looking forward to helping even more of our essential community organisations continue their amazing work. By supporting local projects such as these we can improve the lives of hundreds of local residents."
