Y+ Youth Services will run existing and new services at Woodlands Hall, Headley Down

A hall in Headley Down will soon be offering fantastic services for young people and the community when a local community group takes over management this summer.

East Hampshire District Council, which owns Woodlands Hall, on the Heatherlands Estate, has partnered with Y+ Youth Services to run the facility and provide opportunities and activities for local people.

Y+ Youth Services will be on site from early June and will maintain and grow the hall's community services over the course of an anticipated ten-year lease.

Cllr Adeel Shah, Portfolio Holder for Community Development and Engagement, said: “This is a great example of a local organisation coming forward to run a local facility. The council want to support local groups and organisations to take an active role in their community, Y+ is a great example of this.

“It is a brilliant organisation that has been running very successfully in Whitehill & Bordon for many years and we are delighted to be able to team up with them through this agreement.

“Woodlands Hall is a valuable facility that plays a really important role in the community and I am sure local residents are looking forward to enjoying the exciting activities that will soon be on offer.”

Jodie Gibbs-Farrow, Founder of Y+, said: "The Y+ Youth Services team are very excited to have been chosen to manage Woodlands Hall. We’re based in Bordon and have been working across East Hampshire for the last five years on a wide range of community projects, from youth clubs and mentoring programs to holiday activities, excursions and family cooking classes.

“We’re really excited to start work on bringing even more activities and groups to Woodlands Hall that will provide benefit and support to the wider community.”
