If you need help, advice or support on living with dementia, this is for you...
People living with dementia, their carers, families, and friends are invited to come along to the East Hampshire Dementia Festival this October – to help them find specialist support and top advice from local charities and organisations.
This year's free drop-in event, organised and run by Dementia Friendly Petersfield will take place on Friday 30 October at Churcher's College between 10am and 1pm.
East Hampshire Dementia Festival 2026
Now in its fifth year, the annual dementia festival supported by EHDC, will play host to services, support groups, charities and organisations that can help people living with the condition.
The festival is a marketplace of more than 20 stalls and information stands, providing dementia-related support – and an opportunity to meet and chat with people who share similar experiences.
Alongside the wide range of information stands, there will be various talks, including presentations on Lasting Power of Attorney, Living with Dementia – A Carer’s Perspective and Funding for Long-term Care, with question-and-answer sessions, as well as a chance to hear the Dementia Choir sing.
Organisations taking part in the event include: Alzheimer’s Society, Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Dementia Friendly Alton, Home Instead East Hampshire, Petersfield Dementia Choir and others.
Cllr Adeel Shah, EHDC's Portfolio Holder for Community Development and Engagement, said: "Dementia affects the lives of so many people in our community, which is why events like this are so important."
"While there is a wealth of help and support available for people living with dementia and their families, many people simply don’t know where to find it. This free drop-in event is a fantastic opportunity to meet local services, access expert advice, and discover the support available for you and your loved ones.
"Supporting our most vulnerable residents is one of EHDC’s top priorities, and events like this make a real difference by connecting people with the help they need. Most importantly, they show that, with the right support, it is possible to live well with dementia."
Local MP, Damian Hinds will be opening the festival at 10am.
This is a free event with free parking. Everyone welcome
