Councillor Penny Flux, Chairwoman of East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) will attend two remembrance services to honour those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
Cllr Flux will be attending the Remembrance Sunday parade event in Petersfield on 8 November and Whitehill & Bordon’s Annual Remembrance Service on 11 November (Armistice Day).
The services remember the armed forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
People attending services on Sunday in Alton or Petersfield can park for free until 1pm in EHDC car parks.
Cllr Flux said:
“Taking part in these services is a great honour and an important part of my role as Chairwoman.
“Many people in East Hampshire will know someone who has served in the armed forces, particularly with the strong links to the army in Whitehill & Bordon.
“These services are important to recognise the commitment and sacrifices of members of the armed forces, and the families who have supported them.”
