Our Community Climate Action Fund (CCAF) will close to applications at 11.59am next Monday (5 October).
The grant scheme has supported more than 40 projects across the district since 2023, and yours could receive up to £10,000 towards capital costs.
The scheme can support new projects from not-for-profit organisations that will enable climate action, benefit the wider community and encourage education on the response to climate change.
The priorities we will be looking for in a project are as follows:
- Evidence - applicants will have to be able to provide evidence showing how the project will reduce carbon emissions, improve community resilience to climate change and align with the council’s Climate and Environment Strategy 2024-29.
- District Councillor support – please provide letter of support.
- Benefits – how many residents will it support? The wider the impact the better.
- Permissions - we will need evidence of landowner or lease holder permissions. If planning permission is needed, it would be expected that this is in place before a grant application is made.
Applications can be completed online. It’s worth reading the guidance notes and other supporting information to give your project the best possible chance of receiving funding.
