Fantastic new facilities provided by developer contributions
Two play areas in Liphook have been upgraded using money drawn from local developments.
The newly enhanced play facilities at The Lyndons and Admers Crescent are now officially open and ready for local families to enjoy, following a significant programme of improvements delivered through a partnership between East Hampshire District Council and Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council.
A total of £174,894 was invested in the projects, including £160,001.17 from developer contributions and £14,893 from Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council.
Developer contributions are paid by housebuilders to help offset the impact new homes would have on local infrastructure.
Working closely together, the councils identified improvements that would ensure both sites continue to meet the needs of local children and families for years to come. Specialist playground company Proludic Ltd was appointed to design and deliver the work.
At The Lyndons Play Area, young people can now enjoy a brand-new multi-play unit, balancing equipment, interactive play panels and new swings.
Meanwhile, Admers Crescent Play Area has been transformed with a dedicated toddler play area, a multi-play unit for older children, a new football goal and a basketball hoop, offering something for all ages and interests.
Accessibility has been at the heart of both projects, with inclusive features incorporated into the designs.
The improvements provide modern, safe and stimulating spaces that encourage active play, social interaction and healthy lifestyles, while giving families even more opportunities to enjoy time together outdoors.
Both play areas officially opened to the public on 13 August 2026 and have already been proving popular with local youngsters eager to test out the new equipment.
Councillor Angela Glass, EHDC Portfolio Holder for Regulation and Enforcement, said: "The Community Infrastructure Levy helps us turn new development into real improvements for local people.
"Investing in play areas means giving children better places to play and helping communities remain great places to live. It's a clear example of how growth can deliver tangible benefits for residents."
Cllr Adeel Shah, EHDC Portfolio Holder for Community Development and Engagement, said: "Playgrounds are much more than just places to have fun. They help children build confidence, develop new skills, stay active and make friends. We're delighted to see these fantastic improvements completed and already being enjoyed by local families."
Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council, said: “We are delighted to see the new playground facilities in both Liphook and Passfield now open and being enjoyed by local families. “These much-needed improvements help support our growing population and have already been extremely well received by residents. We hope the playgrounds will provide opportunities for play, recreation and community enjoyment for local children and families for many years to come.”
