Our Community Climate Action Fund (CCAF) is now open for applications and will close at 11.59am on Monday 5 October.
The fifth round of funding will make grants of up to £10,000 available for new projects that will encourage not for profit organisations to enable climate action, benefit the wider community and encourage education on the response to climate change.
Projects that have been supported by the grant scheme include solar panel and battery storage installations, LED lighting, nature gardens and pond preservation, water butts, bike shelters, irrigation systems, double glazing and more. Councillor Robert Mocatta, East Hampshire District Council portfolio holder for Regeneration and Prosperity (which includes climate and environment), said:
“Local action to protect our environment, reduce carbon emissions and adapt to a changing climate is a vital element of protecting this beautiful district for future generations.
“Long droughts and high temperatures during the summer and more extreme weather in the winter may be a pattern we see continuing for years to come, so I’m keen that we support local action now to mitigate against it.”
