Eight young trees have been planted in Central Car Park, Petersfield and existing ones have been maintained, to keep them healthy and safe for longer.
Eight new trees, including cherry, maple and hawthorn trees, have been planted around the car park, alongside work to improve and maintain existing trees and plants on the site.
The new trees replace dying and dead trees that had to be removed from the car park earlier this year and will provide shade for shoppers and habitats for local wildlife.
The work in Central Car Park has been funded using some of the new £150,000 Leader Priority Budget.
Councillor Richard Millard, Leader of East Hampshire District Council, said:
“These trees have really had an impact on the way the car park looks. As they grow, the trees will bring natural shade into a public space and enhance biodiversity.
“Our team will continue to check on and maintain the trees as they grow, to provide a lasting legacy for residents.”
