Our objectives
In this section of the strategy, our goals are to:
- Facilitate inclusive community engagement to enable climate action and build climate resilience
- Engage young people in the climate and environment agenda
- Communicate our climate and environment work effectively
- Support communities to become more climate resilient
Green Steps bulletins
Green Steps is our monthly bulletin for residents looking for ideas to reduce their environmental impact and wanting to find out what we're doing for the climate and environment.
The Grow Up! programme
Grow Up! is an East Hampshire-wide programme, funded by the UK Government, all about working with our communities, businesses, stakeholders and partners to provide opportunities for all of our residents.
Community groups
In East Hampshire we have several climate action networks. These groups lead on local community climate action. There maybe a group local to you for support or if you would like to get involved. Some of these are listed below.
- Alton Climate Action Network (ACAN)
- Binsted Eco-Network
- Buriton Climate Group
- Hampshire Climate Action Network (HCAN) – linked to Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC)
- Hangers Environmental Network (HEN)
- Headley CAN - linked to ACAN
- Liphook Climate Action Network (LipCAN)
- Petersfield Climate Action Network (PeCAN)
You can get involved in one that is local to you or get in touch with an existing CAN for advice if you’re interested in setting one up in your area.
