From Wednesday 5 August 2026, every household will receive either an email or a form in the post.
If you receive an email
You must respond. The email will explain how to confirm your household's details online.
If you receive a form in the post
You will receive one of two forms:
- a form that must be completed and returned
- a form that only needs a response if there have been changes to the people living at the property.
The quickest and easiest way to respond is online using the secure link provided. You will be given a unique security code, and a QR code will also be included.
If we do not receive a response
If a response is required and we do not hear from you, canvassers will visit your property between early October and mid-November to collect the information.
Why it is important to respond
If you are required to respond and do not do so, your name could be removed from the electoral register.
This may affect:
- your ability to vote in future elections
- your credit rating, as the electoral register is used by credit reference agencies to verify your identity and address.
