We monitor a range of environmental issues at the council, the most common nuisance complaints we receive is related to noise, smoke, odour and light.

Before making a nuisance complaint

Before making a complaint, it is best to discuss it initially with the person or organisation responsible.

A statutory odour nuisance is something that is so offensive and prolonged that it significantly interferes with the enjoyment and use of the affected property. 

Light nuisance

Poorly designed and badly aimed lighting can have a negative impact on the environment and cause problems for people in the local neighbourhood.
