Seventy Ukrainian guests and their hosts found out about the wide range of support available at our second drop-in event on Tuesday (6 June).

Help was on hand at East Hampshire District Council's event from a wide range of community groups, voluntary organisations and local authorities who provide support to Ukrainian refugees and hosts.
Advice and information were available from: Citizens Advice; Community First; British Red Cross; East Hants Primary Care Network; East Hants Mind; Rural Refugee Network; Barnados; Hampshire Library Service; NHS Healthier You; Swan Medical Group; Homestart Butser; South Downs National Park; Everyone Active; The Phoenix Theatre and The King’s Arms Youth Project.
Councillor Adeel Shah, EHDC portfolio holder for Community Development and Engagement, said:
“Everyone at the event had a smile on their face. Our Ukrainian guests want to contribute to our community and help to make East Hampshire a better place.”

Iryna, a guest who moved to Petersfield just over three months ago was helping to interpret for visitors at the event, said:
“Everyone is so lovely and welcoming, and I feel a lot of support from the community. I am really happy to be able to help out and give a little bit back to the community by volunteering at such events.”
East Hampshire has welcomed more than 420 Ukrainians (200 families) to the district; the third most in Hampshire.
