Volunteers festival

Eight events across East Hampshire to connect you to your community.

Connect with your community at one of a host of volunteering festivals being held across East Hampshire.

In total eight events are being staged in August and September to showcase the incredible opportunities open to people looking to give a little back to their community.

The festivals will be a chance for charities, community groups, societies and clubs to put on a show for people in their patch and demonstrate just how many ways there are to get involved.

Cllr Adeel Shah, EHDC Portfolio Holder for Community Development and Engagement, said: “If you have some time to spare or are looking for a way to help people in your community, then volunteering is a rewarding and enriching way to go. I do it myself, as much as I can, and it’s an incredibly great thing to do!

“These festivals are spread all round the district and will give residents a brilliant local look at the kinds of volunteering opportunities on offer where they live.

“Whatever your skill set or personal interest, there will be something for you to take part in and really make a positive difference to their community.”

The festivals are planned in September in Horndean, Alton, Petersfield, Liss, Four Marks, Froyle, Whitehill & Bordon, with one in Grayshott set for August.

A rich mixture of different organisations will be taking part. Some covering the whole district, others very local to your town or village.

This event is part-funded as part of East Hampshire District Council’s Grow Up programme through the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
