Application window for developer contributions open until May

Money generated from new development is being reinvested back into our communities, with a fresh round of funding available to support local infrastructure.

Community groups, charities and organisations are invited to apply for a dedicated funding pot created through developer contributions - financial contributions that house-builders pay to improve local infrastructure and facilities.

As development takes place funds are collected, ensuring that growth brings direct and lasting benefits to the people who live there.

In recent years, developer contributions have helped deliver a wide range of community improvements, including health initiatives, school upgrades, new play areas and many other valuable local projects.

Last week Cllr Glass and other EHDC councillor opened a new 3G pitch at Bohunt School in Liphook, paid for with more than £800,000 of developer contributions.

Cllr Angela Glass, EHDC Portfolio Holder for Regulation & Enforcement, said: “Developer contributions play a vital role in ensuring that new growth directly benefits the people who live and work in our district. By reinvesting this funding back into our communities, we can deliver the facilities, infrastructure and services that residents rely on.

“Now that a new round of funding is available, I would strongly encourage local groups, charities and organisations to come forward with their ideas. Developer contributions have already supported a wide range of improvements - from enhancing schools and play areas to backing important health and community initiatives. This is a real opportunity to make a lasting difference in your town or village.”

Developer contributions are split into two pots, Section 106 and the Community Infrastructure Levy. Organisations can bid for any Section 106 that is available throughout the year, applications for the Community Infrastructure Levy can only be submitted during the window, running from Monday 2 February to Friday 1 May.
