Renewal deadlines

We have recently contacted residents who applied for their postal votes before 30 January 2024 by email and/or letter, asking them to reapply.

People who have been contacted this way will lose their postal vote if it is not renewed by 31 January 2026.

How you can reapply

You can reapply:

If you no longer wish to vote by post, please email electoral.services@easthants.gov.uk and we can cancel your postal vote, and this will stop any reminder letters being sent to you.

Can I still vote if my postal vote expires?

Yes. As long as you are still registered to vote, you will be able to vote at your local polling station with appropriate ID.

I haven’t received a letter or email

If you applied for a postal vote after October 2023, you do not need to reapply for your postal vote yet and you will be contacted later.

If you applied for your postal vote before October 2023 and have not received a letter or email, we recommend that you reapply, as it may not have been delivered.

I don’t know when I applied for a postal vote

If you are unsure when you applied for a postal vote, there is no harm in applying again through the process above.
