Support for local businesses - a message from our Chief Executive.

Coronavirus business support

The government has set out a range of support schemes for businesses to help them during the coronavirus outbreak.

Havant Borough Council will lead on the administration of some grants and business rate relief. Other support can be accessed through the HMRC, the British Business Bank and the Bank of England.

There is also a lot of information on the government’s business support hub.

Business closures

The government has ordered non-essential businesses and premises to close. Guidance and a full list can be found on the GOV.UK website.

Local authorities and the police have been given powers to take action against these businesses if they carry on trading.

For more information and to report a business or premises breaking the rules, please contact the Environmental Health Team by email and they will respond to you as soon as possible.
