Glass collections

We collect glass every four weeks from all homes in the district.

You should put glass bottles and jars (without corks or lids) into your 38 litre glass box.

Glass boxes should weigh under 5.5kg. Our crews pick up around 3,500 glass boxes each week and overloading can lead to injury.

Bottle banks

There are large 10,700 litre skip-sized bottle banks around the district.

If you arrive at a bottle bank and it is full, please do not leave glass around the bin, as this can cause a hazard for crews, residents and wildlife.

Please ensure that you put rinsed bottles and jars (without corks or lids) into the bins, as you would your glass box.
