Trees managed by us

We will only carry out work which is essential i.e. where there is a clear arboricultural reason or where there is a high risk of injury to people or damage to property caused by a structural failure.

The following requests are not classified as essential work:

  • prune the tree to reduce shading
  • stop fruit/fallen leaves/bird droppings
  • because the tree is blocking light or TV signal
  • overhanging branches to properties

For essential works please email (including photos): arboriculture@easthants.gov.uk

Trees managed by private owners

These trees are the responsibility of the owner and they must be notified if their tree is dangerous or in need of management.

If the tree is dangerous you MUST attempt to contact the owner twice in writing before reporting the issue to us.

If the owner fails to make the danger safe, you can then contact us. We will require evidence of the written notices to the owner and photographic evidence of the danger before we can take any action.

To report a privately owned tree that is dangerous please email: arboriculture@easthants.gov.uk

For private trees with Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) or within a conservation area please contact our Heritage and Trees team.

Trees managed by Hampshire County Council

Please note we do not manage trees on private property and roads - the land owner or occupier is responsible for these trees.

Trees on the roadside are managed by Hampshire County Council Highways department as highways authority in the district, you can report issues on any such tree or hedge online.
